Process Improvement Leader - R2R (Record to Report)

Overview

Senior Team Lead for Financial Accounting responsible for end-to-end global Record-to-Report (R2R) operations, leading the Pune team and driving process excellence, financial governance and transformation across Americas, EMEA and APAC.

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end R2R processes including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting and eliminations, fixed assets and leases, journals and accruals, and financial reporting support.
• Own close calendar adherence, accuracy and completeness across Americas, EMEA and APAC, ensuring zero-surprise balance sheet management.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS / US GAAP / local GAAP as applicable, and act as key interface for internal audit, external audit and SOX / JSOX / ICF controls.
• Own and strengthen journal entry controls, reconciliation quality and aging, and manual versus automated controls; drive closure of audit findings and remediation of control gaps.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma and digital process improvement initiatives across R2R, reducing close cycle time, manual effort and rework through standardization, automation (RPA, AI) and simplification of policies and procedures.
• Own R2R KPIs including close cycle time, first-time-right journals, reconciliation aging, audit issues and cost-to-serve.
• Partner with IT, Digital and Finance Transformation teams to implement and optimize ERP platforms, drive tool adoption (Power BI, AI-based reconciliation and anomaly detection), and support GBS migrations and scope expansions.
• Act as trusted finance partner to regional FSSC heads, business controllers and global finance leadership, providing data-backed insights into balance sheet risks, accounting judgments and process bottlenecks.
• Lead, mentor and develop a large global R2R team, build succession pipelines and drive engagement and a performance culture.

What you'll need

• 17+ years of progressive experience in R2R / financial accounting.
• Proven leadership of large teams in GBS / FSSC / shared services environments (lead at least a 25+ member team).
• Strong exposure to global operations across Americas, EMEA and APAC.
• Deep hands-on experience with month-end close, balance sheet management, intercompany accounting, and audit and controls.
• Cross-domain hands-on knowledge of Procure to Pay, Lead to Cash, Fixed Assets, Intercompany and Payroll.
• Technical expert accounting knowledge (IFRS / GAAP) and balance sheet risk assessment and judgment.

Nice to have

• Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Lean / Six Sigma / process excellence certification.
