Procurement Specialist

Overview

Procurement Specialist in the Electrification Business Smart Power Division, based in Hyderabad, India, ensuring implementation, maintenance and compliance of purchasing and logistics activities in the Procurement function.

What you'll do

• Coordinate all procurement activities for Research and Development (R&D) projects.
• Estimate initial cost and quality, and achieve product cost and quality targets.
• Negotiate contracts and finalize orders for Equipment and Software for Opex and Capex requirements.
• Find new potential materials or new potential suppliers for R&D requirements.
• Select suppliers, with the support of the business, in line with product cost requirements, future product footprint requirements and procurement strategies, while ensuring sustainable quality and cost.
• Onboard new suppliers into the system.
• Convert purchase requests to orders and ensure on-time delivery of material and services by coordinating with suppliers for each project, in alignment with the critical project development and testing plan.
• Optimize cost at all stages of the procurement.
• Support the development of new lower cost suppliers to meet the level required for sustainable quality and on-time delivery.
• Execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures.
• Deliver and participate in training programs as required to ensure compliance and foster professional development.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree in commerce or science.
• 7 years of experience in Engineering Procurement.
• Good SAP HANA and MS-Excel knowledge.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in procurement of electromechanical components or manufacturing industry background.
