Own the strategy, roadmap and execution of Alpaca's core account management and identity verification systems, creating a flexible and compliant global account infrastructure for financial institutions.

What you'll do

  • Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Alpaca's account opening and identity verification services.
  • Manage the lifecycle of account structures, including fully disclosed, omnibus, and omnibus with sub-accounting, for global B2B clients.
  • Develop and enhance features such as opening accounts for entities, creating sub-accounts for distinct trading strategies, and managing multiple account types (e.g., self-directed, robo, retirement).
  • Lead the strategy for KYC and identity verification, supporting models from partner-led KYC to integrated solutions with third-party providers.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and regional business teams to navigate jurisdictional complexities, ensuring account systems meet local licensing, data management, and financial requirements.
  • Author detailed product requirement documents (PRDs) and user stories to ensure clarity and alignment across teams.
  • Work with go-to-market teams to enable adoption of new account features and onboarding flows.
  • Define and analyze key metrics such as onboarding success rates, account funding times, and KYC pass-through rates.

What you'll need

  • At least 5 years of product management experience, with a focus on B2B, fintech, or complex platform products.
  • Experience with products related to user onboarding, identity verification (KYC/AML), or account management systems.
  • A strong understanding of the operational and regulatory complexities in financial services, especially concerning client onboarding and account lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to understand complex technical and business requirements and work effectively with engineering, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics tools to track product performance and make informed decisions.
  • A genuine passion for financial markets and a strong desire to build products that empower developers and democratize access to financial services.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.

Nice to have

  • A background in engineering.
  • Direct experience working in the fintech or brokerage industry.
  • Experience working in a globally distributed, remote-first company.
  • Familiarity with different brokerage account structures (e.g., omnibus, fully disclosed).
  • Experience with global identity verification providers and regulatory technology (RegTech).
