Overview

Technical product owner who bridges customer and stakeholder needs with technology capabilities, grooming the product backlog and removing barriers to software development.

What you'll do

• Partner with Product Management to understand customer and stakeholder needs in a broader context, and develop partnership relationships with engineering, QA and Architecture teams.
• Participate in interviews with users, customers and stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Articulate and decompose work into discrete increments that align to customer needs, and provide input into business and technical requirements.
• Understand the end product or functionality needed and articulate a broader need to deliver a more holistic solution.
• Provide guidance to engineering and QA teams when clarity about business requirements is needed.
• Actively participate in solutioning, epic decomposition, backlog grooming and initial t-shirt sizing sessions.
• Provide inputs to QE partners so testing approach and high-level use cases are considered in solution and estimation.
• Help drive MVP definition with stakeholders when applicable.
• Drive the process to identify, capture and document dependencies in partnership with engineering and architecture teams, and interact with dependent teams.
• Participate in initial estimates and value/effort assessment to define scope of quarterly increments, and contribute to sequencing and critical path analysis.
• Review initial drafts of stories and contribute to refinement for Product Management review.
• Align prioritization with Product Management and Product Owner best practices, and create sprints, sprint goals and plans for the current and subsequent two sprints.
• Drive alignment with upstream dependencies to deliver.
• Drive adherence to story acceptance criteria and readiness checklist, partner with QE and Engineering leads on testing approach, scope and planning, and provide final sign-off on stories.
• Review and partner with product managers to prepare sprint and quarterly demos, and present the demo.
• Lead documentation and synthesis of demo feedback into future backlog work with Product Management.
• Lead delivery retrospectives covering velocity, quality (incidents and bugs), and reasons for delays, and propose a prioritized set of changes with technology partners.
• Monitor adoption KPIs and propose changes to upcoming deliverables to drive improvements.
• Drive scope and changes to new release increments based on collected feedback.

What you'll need

• 5-7 years of product owner experience in a cloud-based and/or SaaS environment.
• Working experience using Agile methodologies, facilitating Agile ceremonies and Lean product management.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience may be considered.

• Exposure to and experience tracking capacity against the budget of product initiatives.
• Cloud certification.
• Ability to build strong relationships with partners across the business.
