Overview
The Reporting & Automation Engineer drives digital transformation, automation, data analytics, and project information management across complex capital projects. The role supports project mobilization, Common Data Environment governance, advanced reporting, intelligent automation, AI-powered solutions, and continuous improvement across global projects.
What you'll do
- Establish and maintain secure, centralized, and scalable Common Data Environments.
- Ensure project information is structured, governed, and accessible throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement data governance standards, naming conventions, workflows, and document control procedures.
- Maintain data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Lead project setup and mobilization activities for project information management systems.
- Configure and deploy digital tools, workflows, and reporting frameworks for new projects.
- Support implementation of project controls systems and integration between platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful adoption of digital solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Create data models, KPIs, measures, and DAX calculations for project controls and management reporting.
- Develop automated reporting solutions providing real-time project insights.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Deliver ad hoc reporting and executive-level dashboards to support decision-making.
- Develop standardized digital solutions, templates, and workflows across projects.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes through automation.
- Build automation solutions using Power Automate, Power Apps, VBA, Python, and related technologies.
- Implement best practices and lean methodologies to improve operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through technology and innovation.
- Support development and maintenance of Cost Breakdown Structures aligned to Work Breakdown Structures.
- Apply earned value management, critical path methodology, schedule analysis, and risk management principles.
- Support project forecasting, performance measurement, and progress reporting.
- Collaborate with project teams to apply governance frameworks and reporting standards consistently.
- Provide analytical support for cost, schedule, risk, and performance management processes.
- Design, develop, and deploy Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio solutions.
- Build and maintain AI-powered agents for project controls, reporting, information retrieval, and knowledge management.
- Integrate AI solutions with SharePoint, Power Platform, SQL databases, Primavera P6, and enterprise systems.
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation and knowledge management solutions using project data.
- Use generative AI for report generation, document summarization, risk analysis, and automated insights.
- Ensure AI solutions follow governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI practices.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve project outcomes.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes for reporting and analytics requirements.
- Manage integrations across project management, financial, and operational systems.
- Support data warehousing, data modeling, and master data management activities.
- Ensure data quality, availability, and performance across reporting platforms.
- Mentor junior team members.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 6-8 years of experience in Project Information Management, Digital Delivery, Project Controls, Business Intelligence, or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Power Platform development and automation.
- Experience supporting large-scale global projects across multiple regions.
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated experience delivering automation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Project Information Management and Controls experience, including CDE Management, Project Mobilization, WBS/CBS Development, CPM, Earned Value Management, Cost, Risk and Schedule Management.
- Data Analytics and Reporting experience with Power BI, DAX, Data Modeling, KPI Development, Executive Dashboards, SQL, SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS.
- Automation and Digital Solutions experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Excel/VBA, Python, ETL Processes, and System Integrations.
- AI and Emerging Technologies experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI Agents, Azure AI Services, Prompt Engineering, RAG Solutions, and Intelligent Automation.
