Protection & Control Design Engineer

Overview

Design protection and control systems for electrical projects, including substations and power plants from 11kV to 400kV. Own assigned project scope and provide engineering support across projects and tenders.

What you'll do

• Prepare protection and control schematics, diagrams, layouts, and bills of materials.
• Develop cubicle, interface, manufacturing, cabling, and equipment documentation.
• Configure IEDs for protection applications including distance, differential, overcurrent, auto-reclose, and synchro-check.
• Review engineering documents against checklists and ISO standards.
• Prepare project budgets, delegation plans, reports, and test procedures for FAT and SAT.
• Coordinate with engineering, tendering, project management, procurement, design teams, consultants, and customers.
• Identify root causes, recommend solutions, and prepare control plans to mitigate project risks.

What you'll need

• 8–10 years of experience in the electrical engineering industry.
• Experience with power plants and grid substations from 11kV to 400kV.
• Expertise with Hitachi, GE, MICOM, SEL, NARI, TAPCON, REG-D, and other IEDs.
• Experience using Omicron CMC 256/356 and Megger IED testing kits.
• Knowledge of relay settings, substation equipment, SCADA networks, and protocols.
• Proficiency in CAD design tools, EPLAN, El-Master, E3, or equivalent tools.
• Excellent English and good communication skills.
