Quality Engineering Manager - FlashArray

Overview

Lead and build the FlashArray Foundation Quality Engineering team in Bangalore, driving test strategy, automation, and release readiness for foundational FlashArray capabilities.

What you'll do

• Hire, mentor, and coach a newly forming team of quality and automation engineers in Bangalore, fostering technical excellence, continuous learning, and shared ownership.
• Define and execute the FA Foundation quality roadmap, including risk-based coverage, automated CI/CD pipeline integration, fault injection, and release-readiness criteria across software, firmware, and hardware.
• Collaborate early in the design cycle with Development, Architecture, Product, and Release teams to improve testability, align dependencies, remove roadblocks, and ensure high-confidence product deliveries.
• Modernize test automation frameworks, testbed configurations, and triage workflows, incorporating AI-assisted engineering tools to improve log analysis, test generation, and failure triage speed.
• Use quality metrics (coverage, pass rates, triage time) and root-cause analyses from customer escalations to establish durable automated test coverage and prevent recurring issues.

What you'll need

• 15+ years of overall technical software experience.
• 3+ years directly managing, hiring, and scaling engineering teams.
• Proven experience delivering complex software, hardware, firmware, or distributed infrastructure products within enterprise storage, networking, or embedded systems domains.
• Deep expertise in test architecture, systems validation, shift-left CI/CD execution, and designing scalable automation frameworks using Python (or similar programming languages).
• Solid grounding in Linux environments, storage protocols (NVMe, FC), hardware qualification, fault injection, and long-running reliability testing.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of partnering effectively across distributed global engineering teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience validating enterprise storage platforms, NVMe-oF architectures, or New Product Introduction (NPI) platform refreshes.
• Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), observable quality dashboards, and automated failure classification systems.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for automated test design, triage, and log analysis.
• Experience managing engineering teams across multi-region locations (e.g., Bangalore and North America).
