Quality & OpEx Specialist

Overview

Quality & OpEx Specialist in ABB's Process Automation business, Central Quality team in Bangalore, India. Reports to the Quality Manager. Hybrid work model.

What you'll do

• Guide and/or support Research and Development (R&D) teams by providing solutions and process standards to prevent defects.
• Ensure products and systems are delivered to the desired quality.
• Extend guidance and support through the phases of the development process so that the results of each phase adhere to defined quality standards and meet target dates and budgets.
• Define, plan, lead, drive, coordinate, and/or execute all appropriate quality assurance activities.
• Assemble quality assurance activities into a coherent and coordinated plan along the project development phases so that R&D outcomes are predictable and meet requirements for quality, scope, timeliness, and cost.
• Ensure appropriate management of sub-suppliers.
• Encourage and help R&D employees develop skills in Lean Six Sigma and use related tools during product development.
• Promote and support the deployment of the quality and operational excellence (Quality & OpEx) strategy to accelerate the rate of operational improvement.
• Support and maintain the local division's quality management system (QMS) to drive standardization and consistent execution in delivering customer requirements, managed in line with ISO 9001, ISO 22301 and ISO 27001 and with ABB business area and division guidance.
• Plan and implement the QMS, including support for internal audits, management reviews, external audits, and external certification.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
• 10–15 years of process and quality related experience.
• Business continuity management knowledge.
• Information security management knowledge.
• Six Sigma knowledge.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Visio, macros, Tableau, Power BI etc.
• Hands-on experience implementing a quality management system and internal auditing, with necessary training certification.
