R&D Engineer

Overview

R&D Engineer role at Hitachi Energy India Development Center, focused on verification and validation of substation automation products.

What you'll do

• Verify and validate substation automation products.
• Participate in the test core team to understand product test requirements and perform software/domain test activities on system and product projects.
• Develop new and adaptive design of test cases for system and product requirements.
• Report and verify test defect logs captured during the testing phase of the assigned product.
• Foster a collaborative, results-driven work environment and inspire and motivate R&D teams, collaborating with resources from functions across the company.
• Work with teams spread globally.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

What you'll need

• BE/MTech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 3+ years relevant experience in substation commissioning activities.
• Engineering and testing of SA communication protocols including IEC 61850 Ed1 & Ed2, DNP3, IEC60870-5-101, 104, SNTP, SNMP.
• Cyber security knowledge and DevOps.
• Basic knowledge of test automation tools with scripting (e.g. Python, Selenium or Visual Basic).
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
