R&D Associate Engineer

Overview

Contribute to technology, software, product and system development in R&D for ABB's Motion Business Drive Products Division in Bangalore, India, working both independently and as part of an R&D team.

What you'll do

• Work as an independent and reliable contributor in R&D projects with limited supervision.
• Perform various tasks in the assigned area (e.g., mechanics, electronics, thermal, software), from building concepts and gathering requirements to designing, implementing, integrating, testing, technology transfer or maintenance, and operations.
• Understand and apply applicable processes, standards, guidelines and requirements, including architectural and design constraints.
• Drive the achievement of assigned targets (quality, time, scope, cost) and raise and address risks.
• Identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems.

What you'll need

• B.E/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation.
• 3 to 6 years of software development experience with C#, .NET Framework, Microsoft WPF.
• Strong and hands-on experience in Windows Application Development using Microsoft Technologies.
• Strong concepts in C#, .NET, OOPS, LINQ.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript, including practical experience with JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience in Design Patterns, Design Principles, WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation), MVVM and Windows Application Development.
• Experience in NSubstitute and basics of ASP.NET and AngularJS, with Scrum processes.
• Experience in end-to-end product development using SDLC practices.
• Understanding of power electronics devices, drives, PLCs and software tools to configure them.

Nice to have

• Vue.js experience (ideally, for the JavaScript framework).
• Knowledge of network communication and configuration.
• Knowledge in configuring and setting up power electronic devices through PC tools.
