R&D Manager

Overview

Lead a single R&D team toward a common goal, focusing on team skill growth, execution against deliverables, and maintaining high performance and standards.

What you'll do

• Ensure smooth execution on committed deliverables of your team, coordinating with team leads from multiple teams and stakeholders from functions such as product management, actively monitoring and mitigating risks.
• Engage with each team member regularly on a one-on-one basis, provide opportunities and challenges aligned with their interest and business priorities, and create a high performing team.
• Periodically assess staffing needs, appropriate job levels, and lead recruitment.
• Set team performance, skill growth goals, and organizational goals.
• Act as the primary resource for process and work content questions, help the team focus and execute against goals in daily and weekly context by employing standard processes.

• Demonstrated leadership in accomplishing a collective goal while making a lasting positive impact on others in the team.
• Significant contributions in all phases of the software life cycle from inception to delivery, multiple times.
• Ability to identify areas for improvement in software execution and in individuals, following through to remedy problems.
• Ability to inspire and motivate others.

• Excellent time management and effective prioritisation.
• Comfort evaluating changing circumstances and risks and making timely decisions to resolve impediments for the team.
• Ability to work well with different personalities and ensure effective, pragmatic resolution of conflict.

• Location: Bangalore, India.
• Employment type: full-time.
• Hybrid working: expectation of being on-site 50% of working hours; working arrangement confirmed during the hiring process.
