R&D Senior Engineer

Overview

R&D Senior Engineer role contributing to the AUPI IDS Division in Bangalore, India, focused on technology, software, product and system development for the pulp and paper industry, working both independently and as part of an R&D team.

What you'll do

• Provide broad technical software support, training, pilots and consulting services for clients and carry out the implementation of software products in the pulp and paper industry.
• Carry out digital project implementation in the pulp and paper industry.
• Work with Project Managers to define scope, features and estimates for product development.
• Work directly on development tasks; provide technical leadership; coordinate with other resources and create high quality products within the defined schedules and budgets.
• Work with customers to define new opportunities for plant level applications.
• Install, configure, develop workflow processes, troubleshoot the software, and stay current with upgrades, updates and patches.
• Plan and deliver technological training for customer key users or the internal team.

What you'll need

• Experience developing at least one application as a full stack developer.
• Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• 10+ years of experience in application design and development using .NET framework, C#.
• Experience developing REST APIs and microservice / containerized applications.
• Proficiency in fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and React.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and good problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Working with pulp and paper industry applications; knowledge of any DCS/PLC/SCADA applications will be an added advantage.
• Experience with JS-based tools including Jasmin, Bower, Grunt and Gulp.
• Familiarity with Gen AI tools like copilot (highly preferred).
• Knowledge of OPC DA/HDA/UA specifications and implementing the client using C++ and C# (a plus).
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle / SQL Server) and time series databases.
