Research Engineer, Knowledge Team

Overview

Research Engineer (Knowledge Team) to redesign how Claude uses external data by creating new information architectures and training language models to use them.

What you'll do

• Design and implement new information architecture strategies for knowledge organization.
• Perform fine-tuning and reinforcement learning to teach language models to interact with new architectures.
• Build “hard” knowledge base evaluation sets to identify model failure modes with external data.
• Design and evaluate advanced agentic search capabilities.
• Design new architectures for organizing information to optimize language model usage.

What you'll need

• Be a very experienced Python programmer who can produce reliable, high-quality code.
• Have good machine learning research experience.
• Have experience developing software that utilizes large language models such as Claude.
• Be results-oriented with a bias towards flexibility and impact.
• Have clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Be willing to enjoy pair programming.

Details

• Location-based hybrid policy: expect to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
