Overview
The Revenue Recognition Analyst 2 implements controls and evaluates actions for compliance with the company’s revenue recognition accounting process, including bookings and billings. The role performs revenue analysis, supports close activities, reviews contracts and transactions, and advises stakeholders on revenue accounting issues.
What you'll do
- Implement controls and evaluate actions required for compliance with the company’s revenue recognition accounting process, including bookings and billings.
- Coordinate with various process owners to obtain supporting documents for revenue transactions.
- Review revenue transactions and prepare revenue packages.
- Perform regular and special analysis, including reviews of organizational billing practices, to ensure invoice accuracy and proper revenue recognition.
- Analyze third party payments and verify compliance with contractual terms, fee schedules, or other formal agreements.
- Complete required month-end close activities, including revenue reconciliation and management reporting.
- Work with legal and sales personnel in reviewing revenue contracts to ensure adherence to company policies and resolve revenue issues.
- Follow control procedures and interact with audit or other functions in the approval of non-standard contractual terms, including discounts, additional performance obligations, and future commitments.
- Provide technical assistance to regional controllers on revenue accounting and implications of non-standard contractual terms.
- Advise other organizations regarding revenue recognition issues.
- Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently on a worldwide basis.
- Participate in and/or lead company-wide projects that impact revenue accounting and analysis.
- Undertake various quarter-end and year-end review tasks during the close process.
- Maintain SOX compliance for all revenue-related controls.
- Maintain deferred revenue and deferred cogs and perform monthly closing activities.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s in finance, Accounting or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience, with at least 2 years of revenue recognition experience.
- In depth knowledge of ASC 606.
- Advanced user of Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, xlookups, and filtering.
- Advanced user of other Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work in a high paced team environment.
- Willingness to learn and a "can do" attitude.
- Proactive and a team player.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to independently work on ad hoc projects.
Nice to have
- Public company or Big 4 experience preferred.
- CPA/CA/CMA or equivalent is a strong plus.
