Security Engineer II

Overview

Security Engineer II on the Security & Compliance team, responsible for improving security and compliance services across AWS environments, application code, and internal products.

What you'll do

• Conduct AWS security reviews against security best practices.
• Recommend AWS security improvements and coordinate implementation with production support teams.
• Fix custom-built security tools and bots with the Lead Security Architect.
• Review application code for security issues with developers.
• Partner with product teams to implement secure-by-default designs.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, including potential responses outside normal working hours.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in product or application security and related software engineering roles.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
• Experience with AWS services including GuardDuty, CloudTrail, IAM, Security Groups, CloudFront, CloudFormation, S3, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and RDS.
• Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, JavaScript, Node.js, or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of testing practices and documentation.
• Subject matter expertise in security best practices and risk assessment.
