Senior AI Engineer – Notebooks

Overview

Senior AI Engineer for Datadog Notebooks, building AI-assisted workflows and platforms for analysis workflows and context discovery.

What you'll do

• Lead design and delivery of AI-powered product experiences for Notebooks and adjacent surfaces.
• Develop systems combining deterministic capabilities with LLM-powered experiences for trustworthy, explainable outcomes.
• Work with Product to translate customer problems, adoption signals, and roadmap goals into technical decisions.
• Build experiences enabling Datadog capabilities within third-party AI platforms, agents, and conversational environments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship and help establish AI engineering best practices.
• Build and operate reliable backend services critical to customer deployments and be on-call.

What you'll need

• Experience with Go, Python, or similar systems programming languages.
• 6+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering production AI-powered, customer-facing products using LLM technologies.
• Experience using evaluation frameworks, testing strategies, and operational excellence to manage model non-determinism.
• A product mindset to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes and business impact.
