Senior Analyst - Closing & Reporting

Overview

Senior Analyst in the global Closing and Reporting team, working as an individual contributor on a defined portfolio of entities or accounting processes, completing accounting, reconciliation, control and period-end activities.

What you'll do

• Own timely and accurate completion of your portfolio.
• Prepare journals, accruals and adjustments with supporting calculations and documents, obtain required approvals, and post entries in SAP and Tagetik.
• Check transaction details and supporting information before posting, and correct errors through the approved process.
• Complete assigned month-end, quarter-end and year-end tasks within the close calendar, update task status, and flag delays promptly.
• Prepare assigned general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, match balances to supporting records, and document reconciling items.
• Reconcile assigned intercompany balances and process approved adjustments.
• Follow up on differences, investigate routine issues, and escalate aged, unusual or unresolved balances with supporting details.
• Extract financial data and prepare standard reports and supporting schedules for review.
• Perform assigned control checks, retain evidence, and report exceptions.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to obtain inputs, and provide records and supporting documents for audit queries through the designated C&R contact.
• Flag recurring errors, delays and manual steps, suggest practical improvements, and support assigned testing, data checks and documentation for finance changes.
• Share process knowledge, provide clear handovers and complete agreed backup tasks.

What you'll need

• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification, or relevant accounting experience without a professional accounting qualification.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial transactions.
• Typically 5–8 years of relevant accounting and reporting experience, including journal processing, accruals, account reconciliations and period-end close activities, preferably within a large or complex organisation or shared services environment.
• Working knowledge of SAP for journal processing, account enquiries and financial data extraction.
• Good Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables.
• Attention to detail and the ability to check transaction accuracy, maintain clear supporting evidence and follow financial controls.
• Ability to investigate routine differences, explain findings clearly and seek guidance on complex or unresolved issues.
• Ability to organise assigned work, meet close deadlines and communicate progress or delays promptly.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach.

Nice to have

• SAP S/4 HANA experience.
• Experience with Tagetik or similar consolidation tools, Blackline or similar reconciliation tools, or Power BI.
