Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis

Overview

Senior Analyst in Financial Planning & Analysis, within Revenue Assurance, focused on strengthening revenue controls and minimizing revenue leakage across QMR, global billing processes, and billing reviews of core and services revenue streams. Reports to Director, Revenue Assurance.

What you'll do

• Lead and own revenue assurance review projects to identify billing leakages and ensure billing completeness and accuracy.
• Work with billing on understanding rules, determining whether there are billing issues, working through back billing, and working through system fixes.
• Perform in-depth analysis of data systems and process flows to identify and resolve root causes of revenue leakage.
• Conduct rigorous data analysis from Mastercard databases to identify, research, and resolve revenue leakage; synthesize findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Understand and validate billing logic by recreating billing from core systems and comparing it with actual billed amounts.
• Work with pricing teams to identify gaps in pricing and understand the intent of pricing, to determine whether we are billing on what we intended to bill on.
• Support risk-based prioritization plans for revenue stream reviews based on materiality, business inputs, and new initiatives.
• Perform financial analysis to estimate revenue impact at customer and country levels and support recovery decisions.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product, and GBSC teams to improve billing accuracy, implement fixes, and execute back-billing.
• Communicate identified revenue leakage opportunities and recovery actions/waivers to Regional Finance team and senior stakeholders.
• Act as an active member for all billing-related matters and ensure alignment with corporate Revenue Assurance strategies.
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Product, GBSC, and other internal stakeholders to develop an analytical toolkit that drives efficiency in issue detection for key initiatives across corporate and regions.

What you'll need

• CA/MBA (Finance preferred).
• Strong proficiency in database management, Microsoft Office applications, and data analytics.
• Demonstrated success in Revenue Assurance, with the ability to thrive in project-based roles requiring self-initiative and self-motivation.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to simplify and articulate complex issues effectively.
• Knowledge of tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Hyperion, etc.
• Structured, proactive problem-solver with a strong focus on process improvement and execution.
• High degree of ownership, business acumen, and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams and all management levels.
• Proven ability to manage time-sensitive matters, ensuring timely follow-up and closure.
• Capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously while working effectively with cross-functional partners.

Nice to have

• CPA/CFA certification.
