Senior Arc Support Engineer

Overview

Senior Arc Support Engineer (individual contributor) focused on leading end-to-end troubleshooting and resolving customer-reported networking issues.

What you'll do

• Lead and drive troubleshooting on customer reported issues.
• Isolate product issues at hardware/software level and drive cases end-to-end for permanent fixes.
• Replicate customer environments in a lab and document communication with customers and internal teams.
• Advocate for timely resolution and understand environment/network impact on business.
• Build deep knowledge of customer network topology, features, configurations, and service history.
• Partner with other service teams to deliver focused support and drive critical issues to resolution.
• Provide technical expertise during testing, deployment, and operational phases for ARC customers.

What you'll need

• At least 5 years’ experience in the Networking industry.
• B.E. in Electronics/Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent).
• Excellent customer handling and communication (verbal and written).
• Thorough understanding of Layer 3 IP technologies including ICMP, TCP, GRE, QoS, and VRRP.
• Understanding of IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS).
• Understanding of Layer 2 technologies (Ethernet, 802.1q/p VLAN, BFD, STP/RSTP, ARP, LACP).
• Knowledge of multicast protocols (IGMP, IGMP-snooping, PIM).

Nice to have

• Prefer exposure/expertise in MC-LAG, VxLAN, or EVPN.
• Prefer Perl/Python/Unix/Expect scripting skills.
• Preferred certifications include JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE/CCNA/CCNP/CCIE and equivalents.

Details

• Onsite role with primary work from an HPE office.
• Weekend coverage as per roster and pager rotation.
• Location: Bengaluru, Karnātaka, India.
