Overview
Advanced Services Consulting Engineer providing forward-looking technical services to optimize network reliability and performance for designated customers, primarily working from an HPE office (onsite).
What you'll do
- Review and assess open software defects and recommend risk mitigation with relevant teams.
- Deliver proactive consulting via technical analysis such as impact assessment, health checks, software upgrade analysis, and config review.
- Assist customers and senior engineers in Juniper product health checks to identify potential performance problem areas.
- Evaluate network plans and recommend improvements to design/topology/configuration for operational performance.
- Review and evaluate network readiness for feature implementation and product deployment.
- Identify opportunities to improve products, documentation quality, and automation needs; present findings in forums.
- Document and maintain customer network solution knowledge and educate internal Juniper resources.
What you'll need
- Deep understanding of core IP networking concepts (TCP/IP, QoS, VLAN, STP, IPSEC, NAT, IPv6).
- Expertise with Layer2/Layer3 protocols including VRRP, OSPF, BGP, Multicast, and MPLS VPN.
- Basic/plus knowledge of newest technologies such as Segment Routing, traffic engineering, DC switching, VxLAN, EVPN, and SD-WAN.
- 5+ years experience designing and implementing state-of-the-art Datacenter and IP/MPLS networks (desirable).
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Juniper product certifications (JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE) or industry equivalent are helpful.
