Senior Associate – Java + Scala Data Engineer, Advisory

Overview

PwC is seeking a Senior Associate Java + Scala Data Engineer to design and implement high-quality, scalable and robust technical solutions across all layers of application development. The role supports data and analytics services and involves collaborating with global technologists, business users and end users.

What you'll do

• Design and implement high-quality scalable and robust technical solutions across APIs, application logic, performance, reliability, persistence, tests, CI/CD and IaC.
• Mentor less experienced team members, lead by example and produce high quality code while adhering to development best practices.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and actively drive towards the team’s goals.
• Analyze user requirements and envision system features and functionality.
• Work collaboratively with a global team of technologists and business users.
• Participate in all aspects of SDLC, including analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and deployment.
• Lead with ideas and innovation.
• Manage communication and partner with end users to design solutions.

What you'll need

• At least 4 years' relevant experience, with 4-8 years of total experience, using Core Java, Java Restful APIs, Gradle/Maven, Spring, Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Solid understanding and experience with Object-Oriented design and development.
• Solid understanding and experience with Microservices architecture and design.
• Experience building server-side applications using J2EE Technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Experience building Cloud or Cloud ready applications.
• Experience building highly scalable, secure and fault tolerant microservices.
• Proficiency with database technologies and complex SQL queries, preferably PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server or DB2, including modelling and performance tuning.
• Highly proficient working in Linux environments.
• Experience building solutions in Python, Perl or Unix shell such as Bash.
• Experience with DevOps.
• Competency with source control, preferably Git, and Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins.
• Practiced understanding of Agile development methodologies and DevOps Integration.
• Strong familiarity with Agile software/tools, such as JIRA.
• Core Java, Spring Boot, Rest API, MVC, Microservices, SQL, Python/shell scripting and CICD are mandatory skill sets.
• B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA/MBA; degrees or fields of study required include Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Engineering.
