Senior Associate – Java + Scala Data Engineer, Advisory

Overview

Senior Associate Java + Scala Data Engineer in PwC's Data & Analytics Advisory practice, designing and implementing scalable, robust technical solutions across all layers of application development.

What you'll do

• Design and implement high-quality, scalable and robust technical solutions across all layers of application development, including APIs, application logic, performance, reliability, persistence, tests, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Mentor less experienced team members, lead by example, and produce high-quality code while adhering to development best practices.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and actively drive towards the team's goals.
• Analyze user requirements and envision system features and functionality.
• Work collaboratively with a global team of technologists and business users.
• Participate in all aspects of the SDLC (analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and deployment).
• Lead with ideas and innovation.
• Manage communication and partner with end users to design solutions.

What you'll need

• At least 4 years' relevant experience (4-8 years of total experience) with Core Java, Java RESTful APIs, Gradle/Maven, Spring, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
• Solid understanding and experience with Object-Oriented design and development.
• Solid understanding and experience with Microservices architecture and design.
• Experience building server-side applications using J2EE technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Experience building Cloud or Cloud-ready applications.
• Experience building highly scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant microservices.
• Proficient with database technologies and complex SQL queries (preferably PostgreSQL / MS SQL Server / DB2), including modelling and performance tuning.
• Highly proficient working in Linux environments.
• Experience building solutions in Python / Perl and Unix shell such as Bash.
• Experience with DevOps.
• Competency with source control (preferably Git) and Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins.
• Practical understanding of Agile development methodologies and DevOps integration.
• Strong familiarity with Agile software/tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Mandatory skill sets: Core Java, Spring Boot, REST API, MVC, Microservices, SQL, Python/shell scripting, CI/CD.
• Education: B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA / MBA (Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Business Administration).

Nice to have

• Experience building Cloud or Cloud-ready applications.
• Experience building highly scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant microservices.
• Preferred skill sets: React, Angular, Kubernetes.
