Senior Backend Engineer - India (Golang + Distributed Systems)

Overview

Senior Backend Engineer responsible for designing and delivering resilient, scalable backend systems and APIs using Go microservices. The role includes influencing architecture, owning production quality, and mentoring engineers.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Drive technical architecture and plan for system scaling and maintenance.
• Collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams on features.
• Participate in system design reviews and implement robust solutions.
• Own code quality, reliability, and observability through production.
• Plan and execute projects from inception to delivery.
• Mentor peers and junior engineers.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Experience with Go, Java, Python, Ruby, or C#; Go is preferred.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and inter-service communication.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and support production systems.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying and maintaining services on Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and observability tooling.
• Experience with protobufs/gRPC, Temporal, or breaking monoliths into microservices.
• Experience addressing technical debt and scalability.

• 100% remote while located in India.
