Senior Data Architect

Overview

Senior Data Architect in the AI/ML team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve GE Vernova commercial products and internal processes.

What you'll do

• Provide technical leadership in technology and design.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI/ML models into software solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and architect scalable and efficient software systems.
• Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of software applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in AI/ML and software engineering.
• Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes to improve operational efficiency.
• Support Senior and Principal Engineers to safeguard design qualities.
• Maintain an active role in product introduction, cost improvements, schedule adherence and problem resolution to meet business needs.
• Ensure adherence to software development methodologies, including Agile and the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
• Maintain high standards of code quality and documentation.
• Implement best practices for software development and deployment.
• Participate in the review and approval of technical designs and architectures and contribute to the improvement of coding standards and best practices.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
• Encourage continuous learning and development within the team.

What you'll need

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• Strong software engineering expertise, and ability to lead teams.
• Experience with web technologies and version control system in industrial context.
• 8-12 years of deep technical experience in data engineering, having successfully transitioned into senior roles overseeing system architecture and operational excellence.
• Ability to work across organizations in a matrix environment.
• Experience as Senior Engineer.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Problem analysis and resolution skills.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, AWS.
• Experience with frameworks and libraries such as React, NumPy, Torch, Sanic, ...
