Senior Data Engineer

Overview

Senior Data Engineer responsible for designing, building, and optimizing a scalable data lakehouse on Google BigQuery and/or Databricks. The role covers data ingestion, transformation, governance, performance optimization, and delivery of analysis-ready datasets.

What you'll do

• Design and deploy ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, PySpark, and Spark SQL.
• Implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers with Delta Lake or BigQuery datasets.
• Ingest data from sources such as GA4 using streaming, APIs, replication, and native cloud tools.
• Develop and monitor workflows with Cloud Composer, scheduled queries, or Databricks Workflows.
• Optimize BigQuery tables, Spark jobs, and Delta Lake tables for performance and cost.
• Implement data governance, security, lineage, and discovery across the lakehouse.
• Provide production support and collaborate with analytics and business teams on performant datasets.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of relevant data engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field preferred.
• Deep hands-on experience with Google BigQuery and/or Databricks.
• 5+ years of Python experience focused on PySpark.
• 6+ years of advanced SQL experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Experience with data modeling, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform.
• Experience with Looker or Power BI.

• Hybrid working approach, with teams in the office around four days a week.
