Overview
Senior individual-contributor and technical-leadership role responsible for designing, governing, securing, operating, and enabling Amgen’s enterprise Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
What you'll do
- Shape the Databricks platform roadmap, architecture, standards, operating model, guardrails, and lifecycle strategy.
- Evaluate Databricks features and third-party technologies through structured assessments and proof-of-concepts.
- Lead architecture reviews covering workspaces, networking, storage, compute, security, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Build reusable platform frameworks, APIs, automation, policy-as-code controls, and reference implementations.
- Define security guardrails for identity, access, encryption, connectivity, auditing, and data-exfiltration prevention.
- Lead FinOps and observability programs covering budgets, optimization, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, and cost anomalies.
- Enable governed ML, generative AI, RAG, and agent capabilities while improving reliability and user adoption.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or an engineering field.
- 9–12 years of relevant experience.
- Enterprise Databricks platform ownership or technical-leadership experience beyond notebook and pipeline development.
- Expertise across Databricks administration, Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, SQL, MLflow, and Model Serving.
- Strong AWS experience with IAM, VPC, PrivateLink, S3, EC2, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Secrets Manager, and STS.
- Strong Python, PySpark, SQL, Terraform, Git, CI/CD, automation, and platform API skills.
- Experience with security, governance, cost management, observability, troubleshooting, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
Nice to have
- Experience with Databricks agents, governed RAG, AI Gateway, AI/BI, Collibra, data-quality tools, or self-service platform portals.
- Experience with regulated industries, including life sciences.
- Preferred Databricks, AWS, or SAFe certifications.
