Senior Data Engineer, Professional Services

Overview

Senior Data Engineer serving as the technical lead for enterprise data engineering solutions and professional services engagements for federal customers. The role combines software engineering, enterprise data engineering, customer consulting, and technical leadership.

What you'll do

• Lead technical delivery from solution design through implementation.
• Design enterprise data architectures, pipelines, integrations, and orchestration workflows.
• Lead customer architecture workshops, planning sessions, and solution reviews.
• Develop Java applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and reusable software components.
• Deliver data engineering, data integration, and object storage solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex enterprise software and infrastructure issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

What you'll need

• At least 8 years of enterprise software engineering, data engineering, or professional services consulting experience.
• Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading technical implementation projects in enterprise environments.
• Expertise in several listed technologies, including Java, REST APIs, SQL, Linux, Git, and enterprise data platforms.
• Strong customer-facing consulting, communication, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Hitachi Content Platform or Hitachi Content Intelligence.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Python, Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, AWS, Azure, or Terraform.
• Security+ certification or ability to obtain it.

Details

• Work location: Washington, DC Metro, Virginia, United States; job description states DC on-client-site.
• Expected salary: $160,000–$205,000 annually.
