Senior Data Ingestion Engineer

Overview

Design, build and support enterprise-scale data ingestion solutions across non-SAP, SAP, on-premises, SaaS and cloud-based source systems, primarily using Fivetran.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, configure and support enterprise data ingestion pipelines using Fivetran.
• Build Fivetran connectors for heterogeneous source systems, with particular emphasis on Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and other relational databases, SaaS applications, on-premises databases and cloud-hosted databases and applications.
• Configure and manage initial/full loads, incremental loads, and Change Data Capture (CDC) ingestion patterns.
• Understand and implement Oracle-based CDC and incremental replication patterns using Fivetran.
• Configure secure connectivity between Fivetran and enterprise on-premises/cloud source systems.
• Design ingestion solutions considering source-system impact, scalability, throughput, latency, security, reliability and cost.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related discipline preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6+ years of non-SAP data ingestion experience.
• Good experience in Fivetran connectors.
• Experience with cloud-hosted databases and applications such as Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases.
• Working experience in SaaS applications and on-premises databases.
• Good communication skills.
• A learning attitude with accountability for assigned tasks.
