Senior Developer - AI Platform

Overview

Senior Developer for MariaDB’s AI platform, building end-to-end AI application capabilities on top of a relational database engine.

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end feature development from design and API implementation through deployment and monitoring.
• Integrate AI agent frameworks and interoperability protocols into production application workflows.
• Develop secure, versioned application data models for multi-tenant isolation, auditability, and data classification.
• Build application services that deploy consistently across cloud and on-premises environments using CI/CD.
• Define and meet feature-level performance goals via query optimization, profiling, caching, and security practices.
• Own application components and collaborate on design and code reviews in an async-first environment.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• At least 2 years focused on data-intensive applications, database-adjacent features, or enterprise software.
• Experience taking a production feature/module from specification through implementation to production.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing application services across at least two public clouds.
• Experience integrating with vector databases, embedding pipelines, semantic search, or RAG systems.
• Experience building LLM-based applications/workflows using AI agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen).
• Strong Python proficiency for AI application development and high proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java, or C++).
