Senior Development Engineer - Storage

Overview

Design, develop, configure and maintain the platform for HPE StoreOnce physical and virtual appliances, working closely with software and hardware engineering teams.

What you'll do

• Architect, develop, configure and maintain the platform for HPE StoreOnce physical and virtual appliances.
• Design, install, configure, monitor and maintain HPE StoreOnce physical and virtual appliances.
• Demonstrate proficiency in file systems, Linux internals, storage driver stacks, NAS architecture, and programming in C, C++ and Golang.
• Collaborate with the Software Engineering Manager to define and refine OS-level requirements.
• Release completed designs to production following standard engineering procedures.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in system programming.
• Expertise in system programming: Linux internals, multi-threading, and inter-process communication.
• Solid understanding of storage technologies, including RAID, virtualization, SAN, and NAS.
• Experience with source control tools (e.g., Git, GitHub).
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and technical problem-solving aptitude.
• Effective organizational and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Background in storage protocols such as SCSI and Fibre Channel.

• Hybrid role: on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.
• Location: Bengaluru, Karnātaka, India.
