Overview
Develop production-grade firmware and system software for enterprise switching platforms, with ownership of networking features from design through delivery.
What you'll do
- Design and develop scalable, reliable networking components and switching software.
- Analyze requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and create software designs and specifications.
- Write C/C++ code and unit tests using white-box testing and automation practices.
- Triage and debug bring-up issues, regressions, crashes, performance problems, and customer failures.
- Review requirements, designs, test plans, and validation strategies with cross-functional teams.
- Improve architecture, debuggability, performance, reliability, and engineering productivity.
What you'll need
- 4–8 years of relevant software or firmware development experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, EE/ECE, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on C/C++ skills, including data structures, algorithms, memory management, and debugging.
- Experience developing firmware, embedded software, or system software for networking products.
- Experience with concurrent programming, multithreading, synchronization, and IPC/RPC.
- Strong L2/L3 networking and Linux/system programming fundamentals.
- Experience owning medium-to-large features and using GenAI-assisted development tools.
Nice to have
- Experience with switching and networking protocols such as VLAN, STP/RSTP, LACP/LAG, OSPF, BGP, and multicast.
- Python or another scripting language experience for automation or tooling.
- Hardware/software bring-up, SDK/ASIC interaction, packet processing, or data-plane software experience.
- CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification.
