Overview
Senior QA Engineer / QA Lead to own end-to-end quality engineering for a cloud-hosted network management platform that manages Access Points, Switches and Routers, validating the full solution from network device through AWS cloud, APIs, database and web/mobile application.
What you'll do
- Own QA for a cloud-based network management platform from requirements through production.
- Test end-to-end workflows for cloud-managed Access Points, Switches, Routers and other network devices, including onboarding, discovery, provisioning and configuration.
- Test device-to-cloud and cloud-to-device communication, configuration synchronization, monitoring, health status, alerts and notifications.
- Validate firmware/software upgrade workflows, remote configuration and management, and device connectivity, disconnect/reconnect and recovery scenarios.
- Test multi-device, multi-site and large-scale scenarios, including behavior under network failures, latency, packet loss and intermittent connectivity.
- Review requirements, user stories, functional specifications, technical designs, ERDs and data models; participate in architecture and design reviews from a QA perspective.
- Identify functional, integration, data, networking and cloud risks; develop test strategy, test plans, scenarios and cases, and maintain requirements-to-test-case traceability.
- Execute functional, integration, system, regression and end-to-end testing, including interoperability and compatibility testing.
- Validate REST APIs (request/response, authentication, authorization, business logic), data consistency across APIs, cloud services, database and UI, and asynchronous workflows and events.
- Test AWS-hosted cloud applications and services, including microservices and distributed workflows; analyze cloud logs, metrics, traces and telemetry.
- Test reliability, availability, scalability and failure/recovery scenarios, and validate deployments across QA, staging and production.
- Analyze failures across device, network, cloud and application layers using packet captures, logs, API traces and cloud telemetry.
- Develop Python-based test automation and reusable frameworks for APIs, cloud workflows and network management, and integrate it into CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop TypeScript/Playwright (or Selenium) end-to-end UI and API automation and maintain scalable regression suites.
- Own defects from identification through closure, drive root-cause analysis, participate in triage, and ensure critical customer-impacting issues are addressed before release.
- Prepare test execution reports, defect summaries and release-quality metrics; provide QA release sign-off recommendation.
- Perform production smoke testing, post-deployment validation, production monitoring, hotfix validation and support customer escalations and incident investigations.
