Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Senior Software Engineer role in the HPE Hybrid Cloud group, working on the design, development and support of the GreenLake cloud platform, with a focus on Linux administration, OpenStack (RHOSP), OpenShift, storage services (Cinder), automation, and AI-assisted tooling across the SDLC and CI/CD.

What you'll do

• Deploy, configure, administer, and maintain OpenStack (RHOSP) environments.
• Manage and support OpenStack services, with a strong focus on Cinder (Block Storage) and related infrastructure components.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based servers in production and non-production environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform deployments.
• Develop and enhance automation scripts using Python, Shell Scripting, and automation frameworks.
• Use AI-assisted tools to enhance efficiency across the SDLC, including design, development, testing, troubleshooting, automation, and documentation activities.
• Support OpenShift platform deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability of cloud infrastructure.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve platform incidents within defined SLAs.
• Collaborate with development, operations, network, and storage teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
• Participate in system upgrades, patch management, security remediation, and disaster recovery planning.
• Prepare technical documentation, operational runbooks, and deployment procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation and process optimization.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Linux System Administration and Cloud Infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Nice to have

• Red Hat OpenStack Certification.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or RHCE.
• OpenShift Administration Certification.
• Experience with Cinder/Manila/Swift Storage.
• Experience in Telecom, Enterprise Cloud, or Managed Services environments.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
