Overview
Senior Engineer, Automation & Control, Service Engineering responsible for technical support, issue resolution, root cause investigations and technical leadership for instrumentation, automation and control systems during project installation and commissioning.
What you'll do
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for instrumentation, automation and control systems during installation and commissioning phases of projects.
- Respond to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution using technical product knowledge and analytical skills while adhering to sound engineering principles, standards, practices and procedures.
- Escalate issues as required, acting as the liaison between field and design engineering to drive specific technical resolution and help engineering identify and drive corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers to ensure customer technical issues and requirements are understood and addressed in a timely manner.
- Lead and program-manage root cause analysis and investigation activities for product technical issues.
- Interface with Product Service, System and Design Engineering teams, providing technical leadership to personnel supporting assigned projects to resolve customer technical issues.
- Prepare technical presentations for Baker Hughes leaders and customers, ensuring timely communication of significant issues or developments.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards during all phases of work.
What you'll need
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Electrical or equivalent Engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with GE Control Systems such as MarkVIe, MarkVIeS SIL System, Proficy Machine Edition, PLCs and DCS.
- Ability to interpret control logics and troubleshoot operational issues of the systems.
- Experience interpreting engineering and technical documents such as Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) and wiring diagrams.
- Minimum 8 years of technical experience on control systems and rotating machinery working at project sites.
- Availability to work during weekends for emergency technical support.
- Knowledge of any Baker Hughes or equivalent OEM products or technologies such as aeroderivative or heavy-duty gas turbines, steam turbines or motor-driven centrifugal compressors.
- Passion and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage proactively, influence others and lead small teams.
- Flexibility to travel to different sites as per business requirement.

- Prior experience in a design engineering or field maintenance/customer service-facing role.
