Senior Firmware Engineer - Drive

Overview

Senior Firmware Engineer in the core Engineering team, working on firmware and embedded software development and testing for battery management systems.

What you'll do

• Understand system and functional requirements and break them down into software requirements with the help of the firmware architect or lead.
• Create high-level and low-level implementation design documentation.
• Implement in C: device drivers, middleware and application.
• Test the implementation against software requirements using tools and a Python-based emulator.
• Evaluate third-party software.
• Debug field issues.
• Provide active support during software releases.
• Conduct peer reviews.

What you'll need

• 4 to 8 years of experience in the core embedded domain.
• Strong understanding of embedded controllers and their architecture.
• Working experience on dsPIC, STM, TI, Atmel or similar controllers.
• Understanding or working knowledge of code architecture and layers.
• Working knowledge of communication protocols: CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, Input Capture, etc.
• Working knowledge of embedded RTOS.
• Excellent C programming skills with experience working with large code bases.
• Entry-level Python programming.
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, etc. for testing and debugging software features.
• Highly analytical and intuitive.

Nice to have

• Automotive experience (AUTOSAR, ISO 2626) will be a plus.
• Understanding or working knowledge of ISO 26262, AUTOSAR and standard diagnosis protocols is a big plus.
