Senior Full stack Developer –Assistant Vice President

Overview

Senior Full Stack Developer (Assistant Vice President) role in Citi's Applications Development group. The role participates in the design, development and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs, in coordination with the Technology team.

What you'll do

• Conduct feasibility studies, prepare time and cost estimates, and participate in IT planning and risk technology assessments.
• Implement new or revised application systems and programs to meet business requirements.
• Monitor and manage all phases of the SDLC, including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.
• Provide operational and technical support to business users.
• Analyze complex technical issues and evaluate business and system processes against industry standards.
• Recommend and integrate security measures during and after post-implementation reviews.
• Consult with clients, business users and cross-functional technology teams to resolve issues and recommend advanced programming solutions.
• Ensure essential development and operating procedures are adhered to, contributing to engineering standards and best practices.
• Serve as an advisor and mentor to junior and new team members.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for senior stakeholders and engineering team members.
• Assess risk in business decisions, drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and escalate and report control issues with transparency.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience with a proven track record of designing and building scalable, robust backend systems.
• Mandatory expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, including database design, query optimization, indexing and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and modern development tooling.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent university degree/experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.

Nice to have

• Practical exposure to modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React or Angular).
