Senior Hardware Engineering Manager – R&D Networking Platforms

Overview

Senior Hardware Engineering Manager for R&D Networking Platforms at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (Aruba). Leads multiple hardware engineering teams and owns delivery and strategic alignment across hardware R&D programs.

What you'll do

• Provide strategic, technical, and people leadership for multiple hardware engineering teams.
• Manage headcount, budgets, schedules, and deliverables across concurrent hardware programs.
• Drive execution from architecture alignment through mass production toward quality, reliability, and cost targets.
• Partner with program management, marketing, supply chain, manufacturing, architecture leaders, and executives to communicate status and escalate risks.
• Act as an advisor to senior leadership on technology direction and long-term investment strategy.
• Lead cross-organizational execution with alignment across engineering, operations, and external partners.
• Provide people-care leadership including hiring, talent development, performance management, succession planning, and organizational design.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Typically 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Typically 5+ years of people management, preferably managing managers and senior technical staff.
• Expert-level technical knowledge to guide teams solving complex hardware/system-level challenges.
• Strong background in hardware design, validation, and product development lifecycles.
• Advanced leadership skills in coaching, team building, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Exceptional communication skills to engage and influence engineers, peers, and executives.
• Comfort working in high-ambiguity, high-impact environments with strong prioritization and decision-making.
