Senior Java Developer C12

Overview

Assistant Vice President, Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst (C12) on the XVA and Cross Asset Margin technology team, developing regulatory-driven systems that calculate and optimize margin requirements for OTC bilateral derivatives.

What you'll do

• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
• Guide team to establish design standard, improving efficiency of development workflow and product rollout.
• Take ownership of smooth Production releases planning and execution.
• Analyze existing operations to identify risks and redundancies.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop solutions.
• Liaise with team members and management to ensure projects are completed to application development and governance standards.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
• Resolve a variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of relevant experience in Java.
• Hands-on coding experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Java, Spring, Kafka, and distributed cache/systems (e.g. Apache Ignite).
• Hands-on experience with relational databases like Oracle.
• Good exposure to microservices architecture.
• API-first design thinking and implementation using REST, WebSocket and gRPC.
• Experience building applications on cloud platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Proven implementation of design patterns.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software development methodologies and techniques.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Completed Bachelor's in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Any experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Experience with Python.
• UI tech stack knowledge.
• Business knowledge of Margin, CVA, XVA, regulatory stress testing.
• Understanding of Risks (Greeks) and risk calculation models like VaR/SIMM, and ability to work with the Quant team.
• Master's degree.
