Senior Manager, CTO Cloud Engineering at M&G plc, supporting the Azure cloud and automation capability of M&G India in Pune.

What you'll do

• Design and deliver complex Azure infrastructure solutions ensuring security and governance best practices are followed.
• Embrace and adapt to the changing environment by developing applications or scripts in the language of choice.
• Act as torch bearer for the team, serving as a SME or go-to person for the product/project.
• Validate and challenge technical changes, maintaining a high standard for delivery.
• Stay very relevant to the technology space.
• Develop products with little instruction, troubleshoot adverse incidents and dissect complex problems.
• Mentor team members, proactively share knowledge and encourage collaboration.
• Clearly articulate business value to senior stakeholders and manage their expectations.
• Understand the risk and controls around applications running in the cloud.
• Follow the software development lifecycle defined within the team.
• Appreciate truly Agile ways of working and development using tools like Jira/Confluence.
• Collaborate with peers across various levels for experiential learning.
• Focus on scalability, resilience, security, quality and continuous rigour to reduce technical debt.
• Advance the cloud community through sharing best practice and mentoring others.
• Create and maintain build and release pipelines across Azure DevOps projects to support infrastructure deployments.

What you'll need

• Automation and DevOps at the heart of all work you tackle.
• Created solutions using containerisation, with hands-on experience in Kubernetes implementations (preferably Azure Red Hat OpenShift / OpenShift).
• Proficiency in developing infrastructure automation scripts using Terraform.
• Thorough understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery using YAML and Azure DevOps.
• Comfortable with ARM templates, shell scripts and Azure PowerShell scripts that can be provided to application teams as consumables.
• Good working and hands-on knowledge of Azure core infrastructure resources.
• Effective written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to independently solve problems, build robust solutions and work with minimal supervision in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban environment.
• Proficiency in integrating Azure IaaS and PaaS resources (SQL DB, App Service, Application Insights, Storage accounts etc.) to deliver end-to-end automation.
• Proficiency and thorough understanding of the Azure RBAC model.
• Good grasp of Azure governance principles and hands-on experience rolling out compliance and governance policies.
• Knowledge of building VM images using Packer/Ansible or any configuration management tool.
• Sound understanding of networking, including DNS and firewall security such as Palo Alto.
• Experience with containers, registries and related orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Helm charts).
• Knowledge of GitOps and the most common tools.
• Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience and 10 years of industry experience, showing delivery with the help of the team and taking responsibility end to end.
• Graduate or Masters in any discipline.
