Senior Manager Software Engineering

Overview

Senior Manager, Software Engineering reporting to the Sr. Director of Software Engineering, driving the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions that power Nasdaq's technology platforms and global operations.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers, setting clear direction, fostering accountability, and building a culture of high performance.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions from architecture through to deployment, ensuring quality and scalability.
• Translate business requirements into technical strategies, driving decisions that align with short- and long-term organizational goals.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize, allocate resources, and deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, processes, and systems to maximize efficiency and operational excellence.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with demonstrated progression into team leadership or management.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in complex, matrixed environments.
• Strong communicator with the ability to translate technical concepts for both engineering teams and business stakeholders.
• Experience evaluating systems, identifying improvements, and implementing solutions that scale.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Financial Technology, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications in relevant engineering or technology domains.
• Experience in capital markets, fintech, or regulated industry environments.

• Hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change.
