Senior Manager, Software Engineering (Observability, Kafka, Monitoring)

Overview

Senior Manager of Software Engineering leading a team of 8 to 10 engineers who build the Anomaly Alerting platform, a system that detects unusual changes in data and sends warnings.

What you'll do

• Make sure the alerting system is fast, strong, and does not break as it grows.
• Lead projects that make the system do the hard work so other teams don't have to set up alerts by hand.
• Manage 1 to 2 teams (8 to 10 engineers) and build a happy, helpful culture where people work well together.
• Partner with other tech teams and groups across Salesforce (such as Slack and Sales Cloud) so they can find and fix problems faster.
• Speak for your team in meetings and work closely with teams in the US.
• In your first 60 to 90 days, learn the ropes, start leading in meetings, team up with the US groups, and make an impact on the biggest team goals.

What you'll need

• Experience being a manager and leading 8 to 10 software engineers.
• Experience handling large amounts of data and building data pipelines (ETL).
• Experience running systems on big clouds such as AWS or Google Cloud (GCP).
• Experience working with tools that monitor system health (Observability).
• Some experience with Machine Learning and spotting strange patterns in data (Anomaly Detection).
• Ability to work in the office as the company requires.
• Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, etc.) in development workflows.
• Advanced prompt engineering skills, including writing precise, structured prompts and cultivating the system context that makes AI outputs reliable, secure, and production-ready.
• A demonstrated, genuine AI-first approach to engineering, using AI to move faster, build fluency across the stack, and contribute well beyond your core specialty.

Nice to have

• Deep, hands-on experience building Machine Learning tools that send out alerts.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce products such as Agentforce, Commerce Cloud, or Slack.

• Work mode: in office as the company requires; no travel required.
