Senior Network Engineer – Industrial Network

Overview

Senior Industrial Network Engineer at the Chevron ENGINE center in Bengaluru, responsible for consulting, designing and deploying networking technologies and solutions for the enterprise and its business partners across business, industrial and process control networks.

What you'll do

• Design, implement and maintain resilient business and industrial LAN, WAN, routing and switching solutions across plant and enterprise environments.
• Develop network architecture standards for IP addressing, VLANs, VRFs, routing protocols, QoS, redundancy and high availability.
• Design and govern Cisco SD-WAN architecture, policy, path selection, resilience, failover testing and multi-site lifecycle management.
• Use Cisco Catalyst Center for network assurance, automation, visibility and operational governance.
• Design, review and troubleshoot industrial wireless solutions, including coverage, roaming, redundancy, interference, security and integration with plant networks.
• Validate and maintain device authentication, authorization and access policies using Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass or equivalent network access control platforms.
• Deploy and operate Cisco Cyber Vision capabilities, including sensor integration, industrial asset visibility, baselining and security-event investigation.
• Gather requirements and work with internal stakeholders to design network infrastructure that supports secure and reliable industrial operations.
• Create technical design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, operational standards and recovery procedures.
• Provide Tier 3 support for major incidents using packet captures, route analysis, device logs and end-to-end path validation, coordinating vendors and service providers when required.
• Follow standard change-management processes and participate in business continuity and disaster-recovery exercises supporting the network environment.
• Work with team, architects, operations, cybersecurity teams and business stakeholders to deliver solutions, improve processes and transition new technologies into operational support.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• 10–15 years of network engineering experience, including significant experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, energy or critical-infrastructure environments.
• Advanced English-language communication skills.
• CCNP or an equivalent advanced networking certification.
• Expert knowledge of advanced routing and switching, including VLANs, VRFs, STP, OSPF, BGP, QoS, multicast, redundancy, high availability and complex industrial network troubleshooting.
• Strong Cisco SD-WAN and Cisco Catalyst Center experience covering architecture, policy, assurance, automation, resilience and multi-site governance.
• Hands-on industrial wireless experience covering design review, survey interpretation, coverage, roaming, redundancy, security and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass experience for device authentication, authorization and network access policy.
• Knowledge of Cisco Cyber Vision experience covering deployment, sensor integration, industrial asset visibility, baselining and security-event investigation.
• Strong technical documentation, change control, incident leadership and stakeholder communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and supporting industrial networks across brownfield and greenfield sites.
• Experience integrating routing, switching, SD-WAN, network access control, wireless and Cisco Cyber Vision within secure and resilient plant environments.
• Relevant certifications in Cisco Enterprise, Security, Wireless, SD-WAN or industrial cybersecurity.
• Strong written and verbal communication, business negotiation, influencing, conflict-resolution and technical decision-making skills.

• Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
• Standard work week Monday to Friday; working hours 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
