Senior Principal Engineer - Data Engineering

Overview

Develop and implement advanced artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive modeling, and natural language processing techniques for commercial insurance and risk management. Consult with senior colleagues on complex financial and statistical analyses and develop approaches for new, market-leading tools as an individual contributor on the Data Engineer team.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain complex data pipelines through various data systems to drive optimization and implement business strategies.
• Deploy APIs on the platform by understanding the technical ask.
• Develop statistical custom data models and algorithms from scratch to enhance the current value proposition and support new product development.
• Use advanced analytics to augment consulting deliverables with data-backed outputs.
• Conduct research on the client's risk areas and prepare a point of view for consulting.
• Consult with senior colleagues on complex financial and statistical analyses.
• Develop and implement leading-edge techniques in artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive modeling, and natural language processing as applied in commercial insurance and risk management.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields.
• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Science, AI research, or similar fields.
• Ability to develop strong internal/external client-oriented solutions.
• Superior detail orientation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hands-on expertise in modern programming languages such as Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Expertise in writing complex SQL queries.
• Understanding of risk modelling and inferential statistics.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of insurance contracts and risk business in general.
• Understanding of insurance and risk management.
• Experience working with AI tools.
• Experience building data visualization in MS Excel and Power BI.

• Based in Pune - Business Bay.
• Hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office.
