Job description

Overview

Lead the product strategy, vision and roadmap for AstraZeneca's enterprise DevOps platform portfolio, serving 20,000–30,000 users and integrating Jira, Confluence, GitHub, GitHub Copilot and related services into a secure, scalable, AI-enabled ecosystem.

What you'll do

  • Define and drive the product strategy, vision, and roadmap across the enterprise DevOps platform portfolio, aligning business priorities, engineering needs, platform evolution, and enterprise architecture standards to deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Lead and develop Product Owners across multiple products, setting direction, clarifying accountabilities, setting objectives, coaching, handling performance, and building a high-performing, outcome-focused culture.
  • Manage Jira, Confluence, GitHub, GitHub Copilot and related DevOps services as an integrated ecosystem, not isolated tools, aligning roadmaps, priorities, and service improvements to support a coherent enterprise strategy.
  • Run portfolio-level prioritization that balances business value, user needs, adoption, operational sustainability, security, compliance, and long-term platform health, and support Product Owners in delivering agreed outcomes.
  • Drive large-scale adoption and effective usage across 20,000–30,000 users, removing barriers, improving usability and accessibility, and partnering with engineering coaches, platform teams, and business collaborators.
  • Ensure platforms are delivered as scalable, supportable, and maintainable enterprise-grade services aligned with policies, governance, and the organizational system build, promoting standardization, consolidation, and simplification.
  • Embed security-by-design, DevSecOps practices, least privilege principles, and regulatory expectations across the portfolio, ensuring secure defaults and appropriate governance with engineering, security, architecture, and compliance.
  • Engage senior leaders across business and technology to understand priorities, reconcile differing needs, and influence decisions, acting as a senior extension of business, product, engineering, and governance.

What you'll need

  • Significant experience in a product management leadership role such as Senior Product Manager, Lead Product Manager, Product Lead, or a similar position within a technical, platform, or enterprise tooling environment.
  • Strong expertise in DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD, developer workflows, and enterprise platform product management.
  • Experience operating across a sophisticated collaborator environment.
  • Confirmed experience in formal people management, including leading, coaching, and developing Product Owners or product professionals within a sophisticated enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience leading teams across various products or services, with the ability to build clarity, alignment, and consistency in delivery and product practices.
  • Consistent track record of leading central initiatives, influencing across departments, and delivering outcomes where challenges span multiple teams or functional areas.
  • Ability to operate independently, craft direction, and combine critical thinking with pragmatic execution.
  • Experience in portfolio-level product management, balancing short-term delivery priorities with long-term strategic value across multiple offerings or solutions (critical).
  • Demonstrated capability to drive adoption across large user populations, ideally in environments with 10,000+ users, improving effective usage through product thinking, change enablement, and engaging collaborators.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and influencing skills (critical), with the ability to independently persuade internal and external collaborators, often where priorities conflict, and build alignment around roadmap direction, investment decisions, and product outcomes.

Nice to have

  • Experience with enterprise platforms and tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Artifactory.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, including GxP.
  • Experience leading AI-enabled product initiatives or defining AI strategy within enterprise platforms.

Details

  • Location: Chennai, Tamil Nādu, India.
  • Work mode: in-person working, on average a minimum of three days per week from the office, with individual flexibility.
