Senior Quality Engineer

Overview

Senior Quality Engineer role focused on test automation and quality assurance for applications, web services and ETL, based in Hyderabad, India.

What you'll do

• Write automation scripts for UI applications, web services and ETL, and find opportunities for test automation across applications.
• Proactively maintain existing automation test scripts.
• Upgrade the regression test suite after every release.
• Collaborate with team members and contractors/vendors on bridge calls for root cause analysis and expedited retesting of critical defects.
• Monitor and report issues and work with the required team or vendor for quick resolution.
• Send test status reports to leadership.
• Recommend, create and implement automation test scripts in existing or new applications.
• Document solutions for problems and defects based on analysis of business goals, objectives, requirements and existing technologies.
• Manage defects: log, prioritize and retest.
• Write manual and automation test scripts in coordination with BSA and Development teams.
• Be open to learning new technologies and tools.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field; or equivalent work experience.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of strong experience in automation using Selenium WebDriver and Rest Assured.
• 5+ years of experience in Java programming.
• Strong hands-on experience in TestNG, data and keyword driven frameworks, and Page Object Model.
• Strong knowledge of programming fundamentals and algorithms.
• UNIX scripting.
• Working knowledge of GIT.
• Strong database and SQL experience, including the ability to write basic and complex queries and an understanding of advanced T-SQL concepts.
• Working knowledge of testing processes and the QA life cycle in Waterfall and Agile environments.
• Familiarity with both Windows and UNIX environments.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and debugging skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of another scripting language such as Python, VB script or Shell script.
• Knowledge of tools such as Playwright, Cypress, TestCafe or Puppeteer.
• Mainframe knowledge.

Details

• Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
• Work mode: in office at least three (3) days per week, with flexibility to work from home two (2) days per week; some roles may require additional in-office time.
• Full-time, timings 2:00p-10:30p.
