Job description

Overview

Senior Reliability Engineer role focused on reliability modeling, system integration and simulation for power generation, wind and electrification systems, supporting customer projects and proposals at GE Vernova.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate and propose power generation design architectures on an application-specific basis, considering system performance and reliability, by performing studies and simulations to validate system response and performance.
  • Develop and maintain reliability models using BlockSIM to validate system performance, availability and maintainability for complex integrated power solutions (e.g., hybrid systems, BESS and industrial electrical gear).
  • Lead equipment coordination modeling between teams to ensure maximum uptime, system resilience and operational efficiency for inside-the-fence-line power generation assets (including natural gas turbines, HV and LV electrical gear, stability equipment, etc.).
  • Translate key customer availability, MTBF and SLA expectations into concrete electrical configuration and protective relaying requirements.
  • Support equipment LCOE and operational reliability requirements.
  • Translate customer reliability goals into actionable engineering design inputs for reference architectures.
  • Perform reliability-centered simulations to derisk integration, ensuring consistency with industry standards and reference architectures.
  • Lead onsite generation report definition and gather information to support customer meetings and final report submittal.
  • Lead business unit coordination for ongoing customer projects and proposals.
  • Support and lead cross-functional efforts to perform coordination studies and requirements testing for the entire power system, working with Consulting Services and GE Vernova business units including engineering, sales and product development.
  • Interpret reliability metrics and EPC project integration studies to inform system design and optimization decisions.
  • Standardize solutions by developing reference architectures for repeatable applications and applying them to customer projects.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in engineering or business.
  • At least 12 years of professional experience in engineering, project or plant reliability, or a related function.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or technical consulting, including at least 2 years leading teams to deliver high-value technical or strategic solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in roles requiring development and delivery of technical presentations, with at least 3 years engaging directly with internal or external C-suite/executive leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience managing complex engineering or policy initiatives, with a documented history of delivering at least 3 major projects on time and within budget constraints.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing or navigating government structures, global energy policy and power market mechanics, with demonstrated ability to assess macroeconomic impacts of regulatory changes.
  • 5+ years of experience with inside-the-fence power generation technologies, specifically application, design or maintenance of gas generators, BESS, STATCOMs, HV/LV electrical gear and fuel cell technologies.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience performing formal reliability studies, including FMECA, RCA, FTA and RAM analysis.
  • 3+ years of direct experience using BlockSim for reliability modeling.
  • Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 25% of the time, as required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MAPS or MARS.
  • Advanced degree in electrical, mechanical or power systems engineering.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and influence individuals and teams.
  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience in engineering, plant management, product management or a related function.
  • Direct experience with prime-power or continuous-duty data center generation assets (islanded, islanded to grid connected or grid connected).
  • Deep understanding of electrical selectivity, protective relay coordination, PLC/SCADA systems.
  • General understanding of technical regulatory standards and grid code compliance evaluation, testing and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Data Center Tier Classification standards (Uptime Institute) and IEEE/ANSI electrical standards.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time, as required.

Details

  • Location: Remote US.
  • Travel: minimum of 25% of the time, as required.
  • Pay range for U.S.-based positions: $152,400.00 to $254,000.00, with possible geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% in certain areas.
  • Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
  • Relocation assistance: not provided.
  • Application deadline: October 08, 2026.
