Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in the Cloud Center of Excellence, you will be the operational owner for one or more customer-facing systems, building reliable, efficient, scalable and secure professional web-based services for business customers.

What you'll do

• Coordinate all operational changes for the systems you own.
• Consult teams on available AWS technologies, services and best practices.
• Design systems for maximum robustness and maximize operational performance.
• Solve operational problems by software, with automation as the key to solving operational challenges.
• Share experience, train others and facilitate permanent knowledge exchange.

What you'll need

• Practical experience operating customer-facing services in the Amazon AWS cloud environment, with an AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification or equivalent knowledge.
• A reference project where you optimized a system for scalability, performance and reliability.
• Software development experience and programming skills in multiple scripting or higher languages.
• Experience designing comprehensive monitoring tools (Icinga, AWS Cloudwatch, etc.) to collect and analyse data for system optimization.
• Experience building a CI/CD pipeline.
• Experience building infrastructure out of source code using Terraform.
• Experience with distributed systems and complex network architecture, including DNS, firewalls, routing and tunnels.
• Knowledge of Site Reliability concepts, e.g. an SRE foundation certification.
• Linux server administration experience.
• Experience in agile software environments, e.g. Scrum or SAFe.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Software testing experience and designing test strategies.
• ITIL foundation certification.
• Other languages.

• Based in the European Operations Centre in Bangalore.
