Overview
Senior SoC Architect role driving the architecture of a Electronics-Photonics IC (EPIC) SoC. You translate MRD requirements into an implementable PRD spanning multiple subsystems, with ownership of digital and high-speed I/O architecture.
What you'll do
- Drive overall EPIC SoC technical leadership from concept through production and align cross-functional teams.
- Translate the Marketing Requirement Document (MRD) into a complete, consistent, implementable Product Requirement Document (PRD) across digital, analog, I/O, and memory subsystems.
- Own the digital subsystem architecture, including core logic, on-chip interconnect fabric, and partitioning.
- Own the high-speed I/O subsystem architecture, focusing on high-speed SerDes and protocol digital logic for UCIe, PCIe, and Ethernet.
- Integrate subsystem architectures from analog/RF, photonics, package electrical/SI, and memory into a coherent full-chip product architecture.
- Perform full-chip performance, power, and area (PPA) trade-off analysis and support full-chip validation/characterization.
- Present the integrated architecture and PRD to product management and engineering leadership and own through sign-off.
What you'll need
- 7–10 years of experience in SoC or product architecture roles with MRD-to-PRD ownership and at least one full architecture cycle.
- Hands-on expertise in high-speed I/O, especially high-speed SerDes and protocol digital logic for UCIe, PCIe, and Ethernet.
- Experience designing digital subsystem and on-chip interconnect fabric architecture and partitioning.
- Cross-domain integration skills to combine analog, photonic, packaging, and memory inputs into one internally consistent PRD.
- Experience translating marketing/product requirements into engineering-actionable architecture specifications and PPA trade-offs.
- Experience working with 3rd-party IP vendors (evaluating/selecting external IP and integration partners).
- Experience with architecture specification and requirements management tooling, including PRD/MRD tracing and protocol compliance documentation.
