Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Senior Software Engineer (IC3) to help evolve Procore’s Maps, Location, and Assets engineering capabilities, focusing on scalable spatial data, mapping workflows, and asset tracking.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications across Maps, Location, and Assets.
• Lead complex architectural evolution while balancing delivery and long-term performance.
• Own feature lifecycles end-to-end and integrate AI-assisted development practices.
• Create test strategies and acceptance criteria to support reliability and feature rollouts.
• Instrument features with observability to monitor performance, security posture, and resource use.
• Debug distributed issues across client, server, and cloud environments.
• Document technical decisions using ADRs and mentor engineers via code reviews.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of combined software engineering experience focused on scalable web solutions.
• Full-stack experience with modern web frameworks and service-oriented architectures.
• Practical experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js, Java, Postgres, AWS, and Terraform.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related STEM) or equivalent experience.
• Experience contributing to large initiatives with system reliability and production observability.
• Strong debugging, documentation, and communication skills for cross-functional partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with or strong interest in GIS and spatial data visualization (Mapbox, MapLibre, Leaflet, or PostGIS).
