Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Backend) on the Payments team at Priceline, building and evolving systems that authorize, capture, and settle transactions across payment methods and geographies.

What you'll do

• Drive mission-critical projects affecting Payments systems and business evolution.
• Design resilient, fault-tolerant payment architectures for real-time decisioning and risk integrations.
• Architect and implement high-performance distributed systems handling large volumes of tracking events.
• Select and use technologies (e.g., Kafka, NoSQL) to meet sub-10ms response times for attribution APIs.
• Design security and durability models for the data ingestion layer and mentor the team.
• Provide real-time data flow for campaign reporting and budget allocation.

What you'll need

• 6+ years of software engineering and development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong coding experience with Core Java (or similar programming languages).
• Strong SQL composition skills for queries and analysis.
• Experience with Spring Frameworks, Web Services, and APIs.
• Cloud development experience, especially GCP.
